Understanding and meeting these requirements is often the gate to selling and servicing that brand's EVs, so treat the mandate as a planning input, not a last-minute compliance scramble that forces expensive rework.
Requirements can also evolve as a brand expands its EV lineup, so build in some flexibility rather than installing exactly the minimum specified today. A little extra conduit and panel capacity now is far cheaper than a second construction project when the mandate tightens a year or two down the road.
Turn charging into a customer amenity
Customer-facing chargers can do double duty, serving EV owners who service with you and drawing community traffic that raises your profile as the local EV destination. Positioned well, and listed on the public charging maps drivers actually use, charging infrastructure is marketing as much as utility.
Think about billing and access too. Deciding early whether customer charging is complimentary, validated with a service visit, or paid, and how you meter it, keeps a goodwill amenity from quietly becoming an unmanaged utility cost once public traffic discovers your stalls.
