Mobile App Integration
Mobile app integration refers to connecting dealership systems with mobile applications to enhance both customer and staff experiences. For customers, many dealerships (or their OEMs) offer apps where one can browse inventory, schedule service, or even start the purchase process on a phone. Ensuring integration means that if a customer books service on the app, it reflects in the dealer’s scheduling system, or if they favourited a car, the sales team might be notified through the CRM. For dealership staff, some DMS/CRM providers offer mobile apps or responsive web portals allowing salespeople to scan a VIN, check inventory, or log customer notes right from the lot using a smartphone or tablet. In Canada, mobile usage is high, so a dealership that leverages apps (like a service loyalty app or a digital business card app for sales reps) can stand out. Integration is key so that data stays centralized – for example, if a salesperson adds a new lead on their mobile, it appears in the main system. Mobile integration also extends to features like sending customers text updates for service status or enabling mobile payments. The goal is to meet customers where they are (often on their phones) and give employees tools to be efficient and responsive without being tethered to a desk. Done well, mobile integration streamlines operations and improves the dealership’s accessibility and image as tech-savvy and convenient.
