A bumper-to-bumper warranty, more precisely called comprehensive or new-vehicle limited warranty, covers most components of a vehicle from front to rear for a set period or distance. It generally includes electronics, air conditioning, infotainment, and many systems not covered by a powertrain warranty, while still excluding normal wear items like brake pads, wiper blades, and tires. On new Canadian vehicles this coverage typically runs three or more years or a set number of kilometres, whichever comes first. Dealers selling used vehicles should confirm how much original bumper-to-bumper coverage remains and whether it transfers.
