What is Deal Structure?
Deal structure is how all the financial elements of a vehicle transaction are arranged to produce terms the customer accepts and a lender approves. It includes selling price, trade-in value and payoff, down payment, rebates, term length, interest rate, and any F&I products, all balanced against the customer's budget and the lender's requirements. Skilled desking means adjusting these levers, such as extending term, increasing down payment, or changing the vehicle, to bring the payment into range while protecting gross and meeting loan-to-value and debt-service guidelines. A well-structured deal gets approved cleanly, satisfies the customer, and remains compliant with disclosure rules. Poor structure leads to declines, reworks, or unhappy buyers. Using desking tools that model multiple structures side by side helps managers present clear options quickly. Dabadu Desking helps dealers build and compare compliant deal structures in real time.
